Due to the fact that there is a huge problem with waste and the lack of municipal recycling in Jordan, I always like to highlight individuals that are doing their part to upcycle what others throw out. I have before written about a few other local businesses that specialize in upcyling, and today I want to present Hunaya.
Hunaya, founded by designer Nour Nsheiwat, is dedicated to reclaiming unwanted and abandoned materials, giving them a new purpose and a new home. They create one of a kind home decor pieces that not only tell a story but are also eco-friendly.
Their first collection is called “Olive is the New Black”, which repurposes olive wood into new pieces.
They also make custom pieces which you can specially request and order directly through their website: hunaya.com
